Community Gardens

Attention gardeners! Starting immediately, Bexar Land Trust has funds available for groups of five or more unrelated individuals who want to start a garden in their neighborhood. See this program overview or e-mail angela@bexarlandtrust.org for more information, click here for the program application, and click here for the budget form.

Bexar Land Trust developed its community gardens program to support local groups that want to enhance their neighborhoods, encourage interaction between neighbors, and provide a catalyst for healthy activity and good nutrition. With that in mind, we offer those groups that are interested in starting community gardens a variety of resources.

You can support the gardeners by offering your skills and resources. See our volunteer page for our current volunteer needs, and click here for a calendar of garden workdays. For more information on Bexar Land Trust’s community gardens program, check out our most recent community gardens newsletter or contact our community gardens coordinator, Angela Hartsell, at angela@bexarlandtrust.org.
